Okay, the Obama Speech was pretty dang good. Excellent, I'd say. If only we - and congress - would LISTEN to the man and get things done. As my wonderful girlfriend said to congress as they applauded during the Obama Speech, "now, do more than clap, please."

Then, this used-car salesman came on and started speaking in this b-movie narrator kind of voice. Right away, you could tell he was trying to sell you what he knew is a lemon. Bobby Jindal.

I'm going to take a few pieces from his speech and reply.

"There is a lesson in this experience: The strength of America is not found in our government. It is found in the compassionate hearts and the enterprising spirit of our citizens. We are grateful for the support we have received from across the nation for the ongoing recovery efforts. This spirit got Louisiana through the hurricanes and this spirit will get our nation through the storms we face today.

To solve our current problems, Washington must lead. But the way to lead is not to raise taxes and not to just put more money and power in hands of Washington politicians. The way to lead is by empowering you, the American people. Because we believe that Americans can do anything.

That is why Republicans put forward plans to create jobs by lowering income tax rates for working families, cutting taxes for small businesses, strengthening incentives for businesses to invest in new equipment and hire new workers, and stabilizing home values by creating a new tax credit for home-buyers. These plans would cost less and create more jobs."

Well, the Republican party should change it's animal to the Hippo-crit.

Yes, the strength of America is the Spirit of it's Citizens. Republicans, however, enshrine NOT the Citizens, but the Corporations. Corporations are heartless profit-maximizing machines. They are NOT going to keep anything, much less health care, affordable. They are going to max out what they can get for whatever product they are selling - even if that means many people can't get it.
It has been PROVEN that when given a surplus of funds, corporations will not lower their prices, they will raise their salaries and bonuses - increase their profits.
That is NOT stabilizing the country. That is continuing to shuffle all the money to a lot fewer people.

Lowering income taxes for workers will create jobs?? Obama is doing that and Republicans are complaining. Oh, Republicans want to CUT taxes for "workers" who make a half-million a year salary or more and cut Big Business taxes and HOPE that they will raise worker's pay and benefits instead of giving bigger bonuses to their CEOs. ROFLOL. Morons.

Cutting taxes for Small Businesses? Obama is doing that and Republicans are mad about it.
Oh, a "small business" makes a PROFIT of over $250,000 a year? Yeah, right. Looks like Republicans are trying to redefine an Exxon as a "small business."

Skipping over how "incentives" are going to create jobs....
How The HECK does handing money to people who already have enough money to buy a house going to stabilize home values? Seriously, think about that (which is something I am pretty sure Republicans don't want you doing... thinking). You're rewarding people for being well-off. Its a $15,000 rebate for buying a home. Which means that you have to have it to spend before you qualify to get it back. Rich get Richer.

NONE of those proposals Create Jobs. The only thing they create is higher profits, bigger bonuses and more money tied up by fewer people.

Smart people reject that approach. Look where trusting YOU (ie Big Business) with what you honestly believe that you are ENTITLED to - ie, the money of the United States Citizens - has gotten us. Companies in such distress that they took government bailout money to fund their CEO bonuses and corporate vacations and Jets.

Let me re-work that second sentence so it says what he means :  Instead of trusting us rich business people to make wise decisions with our own the money we bilk from consumers and clients, they passed the largest government spending bill in history, with a price tag of that will keep more than $1 trillion with interest circulating through the commoners and out of our well-lined pockets.

I can see how buying fuel efficient vehicles - maybe some hybrids - from the American Automakers will help create jobs (making those cars) and decrease our dependence on foreign oil at the same time. I can see how Building high-speed rail projects can create jobs (construction, railroad engineers, ticket counter jobs, hospitality jobs). Giving more money to the fat-cats whose excess and greed got us into this mess is a BAD idea.

BULLSHIT. Doctors are out to make a PROFIT. As much PROFIT as they can. Just like any other business. They are going to look for the 'saturation point' where they get the most profit for the least work. That is just good business. That is not good for the Country as a whole. Now is no time to dismantle the defenses that have protected this country for hundreds of years, or make deep cuts in funding for our troops. America's fighting men and women can do anything. If we give them the resources they need, they will stay on the offensive, defeat our enemies, and protect us from harm."

Oh, ASSHAT, Obama stated the INCREASE of our armed forces in his speech. Increase in numbers, training, salary and benefits. HIS doing - not yours.

"We appreciate his message of hope, but sometimes it seems we look for hope in different places. Democratic leaders in Washington -- they place their hope in the federal government. We place our hope in you, the American people."

No, Republicans place their hope in Big Business and their own personal Profits and Hope they can get away with screwing everyone over a little while longer. Democrats place their hope in the little guy, the middle class and helping those people, average people, like me, to be the strongest they can be.
Republicans stand on our backs to raise up their corporate overlords. We're tired of being trampled on.
